Service business & agency starter kit

Sell the outcome, not the hours: positioning, offer packaging, pricing and the proposal that turns conversations into clients.

12 stepsOrdered by phase · personalized by your co-founder

1Position around an outcome

  • Define who you serve and the specific transformation you deliver — 'I help X achieve Y' beats 'I offer services'.
  • Name the problem you solve better than anyone locally (e.g. 'for restaurants that want delivery-ready packaging').
  • Write your 3 core promises: what the client gets, in what time, for what price.

2Package, don't hourly

  • Build 2–3 fixed packages with clear scope, deliverables and price — clients buy clarity.
  • Price on the value you create, benchmarked against what the client would pay an employee or bigger agency.
  • Define what's out of scope in writing: revisions, extras, rush work.

3A proposal that closes

  • Structure: their problem (in their words) → your solution → timeline → investment → next step.
  • Include one concrete sample or mini-diagnosis so they can taste the work.
  • Follow up within 48 hours with a decision date — silence kills more deals than price.

4First clients & proof

  • Reach out to 20 warm prospects with a specific, useful message — not a broadcast pitch.
  • Deliver one exceptional result and ask for a testimonial + referral in the same conversation.
  • Document case studies: problem → what you did → measurable result.
